1. Do I need a business license to do business in the City of Litchfield Park?

Yes, you do need a business license to do business in the City of Litchfield Park. Unlike other cities, we require all businesses, including service and home-based businesses, to obtain a business license to lawfully conduct business in our City. Even if your company is not located within
City limits, you will need to obtain a business license if coming into the City to perform any type of ongoing business.

2. Does the City issue business licenses?

Yes, the City issues business licenses through the Finance Department.  Once all the required documentation is received, the business license application is processed and the license sent to the
mailing address listed on the application.

3. Is the City business license a tax license?

No, the City business license is not a tax license. The City business license must be obtained by all businesses, including service type businesses that do not normally pay transaction privilege taxes (sales taxes). City of Litchfield Park sales tax is collected by the Arizona Department of Revenue and is reported under City Code "LP".

4. How long does it take to acquire a business license?

Most business licenses are issued within 5 business days from the date of application. If all the required information is not received along with
the business license application, the Finance Department will hold the application until all supporting documentation is received. The most
common reason for holding an application is not receiving a Arizona State Transaction Privilege Tax license number.

5. What is the fee? Is it an annual renewable fee?

The City has a $55 fee for first-time business license applicants, which consists of a $10 application fee and a $45 license fee. All business licenses expire on December 31st of each year. The fee to renew a license for each consecutive year is $45.
