The Recreation Center is subject to close on stormy days. Depending on the severity of the weather this may include the entire facility. If in doubt call 623-935-9040 before you leave home.
In the event of electrical storms the Recreation Center will close the pool. All patrons will be asked to exit the pool area to ensure the safety of the swimmers.
If lightning is seen or thunder heard, the aquatics department will close the main pool and surrounding pools (spa and wading pool) for 30 minutes. If thunder and lightning persists, the 30 minute safety break will reset. If the storm worsens or extends past two hours the pool will close for the day. In the event of a closure, the office will issue each patron a 1-visit "Monsoon" daily pass that will be valid through the end of the pool season.
Wind and Dust Storms
Severe wind and/or dust storms may close the pool. Excessive wind gusts and visibility is impaired, the pool will be closed and the office will issue each patron a 1-visit "Monsoon" daily pass that will be valid through the end of the pool season.
